Happy St. Patty’s Day

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Just a lil smile for those celebrating St. Patrick’s Day! I went out on the bike for the first time this season… still way too cold, but it felt good to get back out there. The first ride of the season always clears away the gloom of the long winter months here in NY.

Breast Cancer Awareness

I’ve been spending some of my free time spreading awareness for Breast Cancer research. All of the associated products in my IMVU catalog are followed by the “Click to give” link below. It’s a free way that you too can help fund mammograms for women that couldn’t otherwise afford them. Considering how very crutial early detection is, you may just help save a life with the click of your mouse. Go on, click it!

Just a little something I made for my own desktop because I’m unable to sleep, and bored. Working through a second course of antibiotics for a kidney infection. Again. Nothing but fun here!

Stand up to cancer!

Feeling powerless against such a horrible disease is too frustrating for me. Cancer has stolen so much from my family that I feel obligated to fight back. I may not be able to do much, but I can try to help raise funds to get the research moving a little faster. Corporate sponsors are looking for excuses to donate to your favorite cause. Do what you can… will you stand up, or lay down?

Click the “Join us” link in the banner above to STAND UP and feel good about having helped!

Looks like I’ll be spending another weekend inside. Wind storms here are busy blowing around the two inches of additional snow we got last night, with more on the way. The wind is completely out of hand lol.

Something cute I came across in my travels… baby dragons. Click the eggs below to help my babies hatch ;) {I’m testing the site out before I’ll allow my kids on it.}

Wow. Looks like we’re in for a pretty nasty storm. TV news said it’s probably going to be mostly ice. Yay. I’m just hoping that we don’t lose power again… that, as the weather man says below, would blow. (I admit, I scoffed at the phrase “there will be considerable blowing and drifting”. Come on, tell me the staff writer didn’t get a chuckle out of that when he wrote the piece. LOL

A foot of snow could blanket parts of region

ALBANY – National Weather Service meteorologists say part of the Capital Region could get up to a foot of snow by the end of Wednesday.

The storm is expected to begin at midnight. Flakes should keep falling until 6 a.m. Thursday.

Both morning and evening commutes Wednesday will be treacherous, with six to 12 inches expected in Albany. Saratoga Springs and all points north can expect at least a foot of snow by the end of the day Wednesday, said weather service meteorologist John Quinlan.

In Albany, the snow will shift over midday to a mixture of sleet and freezing rain, returning to snow in the evening as the temperatures drops.

The trouble doesn’t end there though. Winds will gust to 40 mph Thursday, consistently blowing 15 to 30 miles per hour. “There could be some considerable blowing and drifting,” Quinlan said.

Temperatures will reach the upper 20s through the day Wednesday, and remain cooler north of immediate Capital Region.

Crazy local shootout

Friends that were visiting yesterday told me about a shootout that happened on a local highway, but I just now saw the online news story. I was never surprised to see this stuff going on when I lived down closer to NYC, but upstate here, it is a little unsettling.

I can’t imagine getting out of my car like the lady being interviewed said she and so many others did. I guess I’m not real big on making myself a target for stray bullets. *shakes head*

We got about 9 inches of snow over the weekend. Enough already, thanks! We’re averaging about 5 inches every couple of days here. To say that we’re anxiously awaiting the return of riding season would be a gross understatement! The schools have been closed 5 days already, and we lost power for three days straight when that ice storm hit. I think that’s more than enough of a reminder about the wrath of nature, tyvm.

New Design for IMVU

I’ve been enjoying a 3D chat with a good friend of mine, and thought I’d share. I’m designing clothes, hair, accessories and all kinds of other goodies for the members to use on their 3D avitars over at IMVU… I designed the “CandyCorn” colored hair you’ll see in this slide show, it’s a Halloween treat!

It really is amazing how much there is to do there! It’s a funny, quirky way to liven up your chatting with friends… and for those of us with a love of digital art, and 3D design, it’s a whole other world for us to play in. :)

If you’re interested in checking out IMVU, make sure to look me up while your there. You’ll find me listed as “WebWenchGinger“… shock! LOL

Taken, not “lost”.
